Russell Island is a great place for people interested in boating and fishing. There are three main public boat ramps and a fantastic and very popular Fishing Club with weigh ins and bar every other Sunday at the Russell Island Bowls Club.

What Emergency Services are there?

There is a police station and a local ambulance station, along with first responder teams, SES and Rural Fire Brigade. Both the police and ambulance services have their own water transport. There is a designated rescue helipad assigned at Jackson Oval. The newly established RCC Sports and Recreation Hub is our designated evacuation point.
